Black Mage

“Uses attack magic to assault groups of foes! Skilled at black magic. Favours rods.”

Unlocked when Ominas the Black Mage is defeated.

Specialty: Black Resonance

Increases the power of black magic based on the number of people with this ability.

Note: You may notice that this class gains a Support Ability that is the same as their class’s Specialty. This is so that if you change your character’s class to something else, you can still give them the ability via the customisable Support Abilities on the Ability page.

4 Abate Fire

Reduce damage taken from fire attacks. Note that you will not receive further reduction if this ability is used along with items with similar effects. Fire nullification effects take precedence over reduction effects.

5 Damage Dispersion

Disperse 15% of damage to each ally when hit by a single-target attack and sustain the remaining damage yourself. Does not apply to magic damage reflected by Reflect.

6 Silence Immunity

Confer immunity to silence during battles.

8 Black Resonance

Black magic damage rises with each ally (excluding yourself) on which Black Resonance has been set.

1 ally with Black Resonance: Damage × 1.1
2 allies with Black Resonance: Damage × 1.15
3 allies with Black Resonance: Damage × 1.2

10 M.Attack 20% Up

Raise Magic Attack by 20%.

12 Pierce M.Defence

Disregard enemies’ magic defence.

14 Group-Cast All

Magic can target all, regardless of its normal targeting.

Fire: Deal minor fire damage to one target. This spell can be group-cast.
Blizzard: Deal minor water damage to one target. This spell can be group-cast.
Thunder: Deal minor lightning damage to one target. This spell can be group-cast.

3 Black Magic Lv.2

Enables the use of level 2 black magic. Note that these cannot be used without the appropriate scrolls.

Silence: Has a 75% chance to cause the status ailment silence in one target.
Poison: Has a 75% chance to cause the status ailment poison in one target.
Sleep: Has a 75% chance to cause the status ailment sleep in one target.

7 Black Magic Lv.3

Enables the use of level 3 black magic. Note that these cannot be used without the appropriate scrolls.

Fira: Deal medium fire damage to one target. This spell can be group-cast.
Blizzara: Deal medium water damage to one target. This spell can be group-cast.
Thundera: Deal medium lightning damage to one target. This spell can be group-cast.

9 Black Magic Lv.4

Enables the use of level 4 black magic. Note that these cannot be used without the appropriate scrolls.

Drain: Absorb HP from on target. Note that both the user and target will take HP damage if used on an undead enemy.
Aspir: Absorb MP from one target. Note that both the user and target will take MP damage if used on an undead enemy.
Fear: Has a 75% chance to cause the status ailment dread in one target.

11 Black Magic Lv.5

Enables the use of level 5 black magic. Note that these cannot be used without the appropriate scrolls.
